I ran my first 5K ever, I have been trying to lose weight and get back in shape and after hitting a plateau I thought signing up and running a race would get me through it and keep me going. It worked and I got Sam to do it with me. My goal was to run a 10 minute mile pace, which is probably slow to most of you, but hey, it was my first time and I thought that was a good goal. I wanted to finish in 30 minutes or less and I did, I ran it in my best time and in freezing weather. My time was 28:58

We got our numbers, its official
Before the race with Sam and my friend Chris.
If you look really closely you can see me behind the guy with the red hat, you can see the pink headband.
My parents were in town and they were able to watch the kids while we ran, it was FREEZING.

Lea, so cool that you did that. Congrats on your weight loss too. It does really help to sign up for a race to push yourself through. It gives you purpose--not just "get in shape". Triathlon next? :)
You're amazing! I always admire people that can run. I'm just too lazy for that.
Good for you! No wonder you're skinny minnnie these days. (Besides not indulging in every Christmas goodie that comes your way like I do).
That's awesome! Great job girl. :)
Drop me a line and I can send you an invite to our blog.
Take care,

That is so awesome that you did a marathon. I think I need to start working my way to doing one to lose this baby weight. You look great too!
Great job! Training for a race is always good motivation. You look amazing, and that is an awesome finish time...way to go!
