I said tomorrow I would post pictures, but you all know me, I meant next week. The fact that I am even doing it now shows some improvement. Get ready for a plethora of pictures:
Those who know me know that I love to decorate my home and that I am the thriftiest person I know. Thought I would share just a snippet of our space...slowly coming together. I will post more pics soon. We finally bought our first real piece of furniture that is not used. A real couch...from a real store, not from a second-hand store, not a hand me down, and not from Craigslist. Although I didn't really enjoy the price-tag, I absolutely love it and know that it will be in our home for years.
Ward Trunk or Treat, Abby was a Southern Bell, Taylor was Snow White and Mason was Jack Sparrow.....oh yeah, and I was an 80's girl.
This is Taylor on her birthday, she picked the outfit all by herself. I love when little girls dress themselves and are all mismatched, Halloween shirt, pouffy tutu, and brown polka dot tights, so cute! And I had to show all of these pics because this is what Taylor does when I try to take a picture, she poses all sorts of ways with her hands on her face, cracks me up!
This is Iowa...and what I get to see every single night from my front porch. SERIOSULY!? every night it is different and absolutely gorgeous. We live in a beautiful place and even though it has been an adjustment from suburbia, the country is growing on me. And grandma is visiting, we love having company around.
The birthday girl, I can't believe she is 3, although she tells everyone she is 5 and will get mad at me if I correct her. This is sooo Taylor, in a princess outfit everyday, she is so much fun right now and I am so glad she is part of our family.
We have so many places where she can play, but it seems like she loves to play here especially when I am cooking dinner. She brings her little Polly's over and plays. Its cute, but also a little annoying to cook when she is there.
Mason's first piano recital, he only had 4 lessons at this point. It was a Halloween recital, he did a great job.
Out trick or treating. It was different for us this year, the town sets a specific time that you can start and end your trick or treating. And we had to drive from house to house, no more walking in a neighborhood. The kids still got tons of candy.
Mason is such a fun kid and loves to learn and go above and beyond what is asked of him. He had the option to participate in the Science Fair and Mason was positive that he wanted to and had an idea already planned out. He did a great job and we all ended up having fun helping him.
Mason turned 8, I have an 8 year old!? How did that happen? He is getting baptized this weekend. It is so crazy for me, I always looked at mom's with kids who were getting baptized and I always thought they were so grown up and mature, and now I am one of those mom's...for reals???! Here is the Pokemon cake that Sam and I did, it was probably the easiest cake we have done to date.

I can totally relate to the "I'm not old enough to have a kid this old" feeling...and it just gets worse as they get older!!!
Your family is just adorable...and growing up so fast! It's good to see an update!
It sounds like you guys are doing great!!
Cute pictures! And I have those same red shorts you're wearing- go figure. :)
