Spring Break

I know a lot of parents that just dread spring break...the kids are home all day long, they have to entertain them, siblings fight and the parents just can't wait for the kids to go back to school.  But I don't feel that way at all, in fact I get excited for when the kids are out of school.  We get to change up the routine and go play, bedtime and naps get all messed up, we eat junk and have a great time.  Plus the kids that aren't in school are so excited to have their siblings home to play with, I think its great!

We went to the playground a few times, we were so lucky to have great weather.

At the zoo

Did I mention...

It's FREE!

At the Magic House

Also FREE...

on the 3rd Friday, which just so happen to be our Spring Break

Mason, along with the Senior Primary participated in this Inter-Faith performance.  It was interesting to hear the beliefs of all the other faiths there and listen to their performances.

We went roller-skating

Also FREE......dang, I'm good!

We did splurge a little, the one activity that we actually spent money on, America's Incredible Pizza.  All you can eat pizza buffet and tons of games and rides.

The kids had a great time.

And last but not least, the most exciting part of this entire post...Whenever the hubby is gone I get the itchin' to do a project around the house.  This time it was to paint my kitchen table and chairs.  I bought them off craigslist about a year ago and I loved the size of the table and the 8 chairs.  However, I hated the color, especially since the color is already all over my kitchen(which is my next project, the cabinets) So, it was on my to do list and I thought spring break would be the perfect time to get it done.

This is how the kids ate all week long, I enjoyed the counter and when I did have a minute to sit, which I don't think happened, I may have sat on the couch for  a second or two to eat.

The before.

And drumroll please....

The after.
I did end up getting sick and being in bed an entire day, so the project took a little longer than I planned, but I am still very happy with the results.
