Valentines

Totally not related to Valentines Day, I have been painting.
When Sam goes out of town I paint, re-arrange, make a mess, craft...you name it.

The previous owners had painted a few walls with this deep red color.  It wasn't a bad color at all and I like red, but I already have a lot of red in my decor and there really isn't enough light, in my opinion, to have such a dark color on the wall.  So I decided it was time to get rid of it, and frankly I was bored out of my mind and this gave me something to do.  I painted the eat-in area, a wall in the family room, a wall in the kitchen and the stairwell wall too.  They were mostly accents here and there so it wasn't too overwhelming.  I am bad at taking pictures sometimes but here is one:

On to the Holiday...

Valentines Day was pretty low key, I tried all I could to make it exciting for the kids.  Heart food everywhere.

Mason came home from school and told me that he was so happy about the lunch that I packed for him that he almost cried when he saw it.  I wasn't sure if I should be happy about that, I mean, I kinda feel bad that a heart shaped sandwich, and some red sides could make him feel so special, am I not doing enough to make him feel special?   Kinda makes me wonder.

ANYWAY.....

Sugar cookies(which I realized I really enjoy decorating) Heart pizza on our movie night.  And if you can't tell...mac and cheese with heart hot dogs....annoying to cut but the kids loved it!

Sam and I ordered Chinese(our favorite) and we all ate on the China and enjoyed the chocolate fountain for dessert.

The kids got some cuddly pets and Mason even got the girls the cutest little pajama pants with hearts.  I told Sam he had to show Mason how they are to treat the women in their life on this special day and so he went out and bought his sisters a gift.  He even got me a fuzzy warm blanket....which I am sure he was happy about since I kept stealing his blanket all the time.

As a joke Sam got me this Snuggie pictured above.  Same print end everything.  We laughed and I was planning on taking it back.  But Abby insisted that we keep it, she just loved the print.  So I opened it up and I LOVE it.  Seriously, I use to make fun of the commercials and ads for this thing, but I was wrong. Its awesome!!!

The weekend after Valentines Sam took me out so we could have our own little date.  He surprised me and took me to a spa and I got a massage, it was great and relaxing and just what I needed.  We went to the Cheesecake Factory(my favorite) and then shopped a little at the mall.
I married the best guy ever, he treats me like a princess and is always doing so much for me.
 Love you babe!!!

What a cute Valentine's day! Your kids are so big!! How do you guys like life in Iowa? Our best friends here are moving to Iowa City in July. What city are you guys in?

Your dog looks nice and snuggly, perfect for kids. My kids are begging for a dog, but I told them we'd think about it only when all the kids are in school all day.

I'm glad Sam spoiled you. Moms just need that!!
